Dakota Lithium offers a world-beating eleven-year manufacturer defect warranty, making it the best in class. This warranty ensures that customers receive high-quality batteries that are free from manufacturing defects for an extended period.

The Dakota Lithium batteries have a storage capacity of 96 Ampere hours (Ah) and provide consistent power throughout the entire 96 Amp hours. Unlike similar sized SLA batteries, the DL LiFePO4 batteries maintain a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. This ensures that the power output does not dramatically drop, allowing users to utilize all the energy available.

The batteries have a voltage of 48V, specifically designed for systems that only require a 48V setup. It is not intended for wiring multiple batteries in series.

Each battery has an energy capacity of 4,915 Watt hours (Wh), resulting in a total power system capacity of 4.6 kWh.

The batteries come with M8 bolt size terminals, making it easy to adapt to different connection needs. The maximum torque for the terminals is 15 ft. lbs.

With a weight of 77 lbs (35 kg), Dakota Lithium batteries are significantly lighter compared to lead acid batteries, saving up to 300 lbs of weight when used as a set.

The batteries have dimensions of 20.5″ x 10.5″ x 8.66″ (520x267x220mm), making them compact and easy to fit into different applications.

The battery range depends on the maximum speed of the cart. For carts with a maximum speed of 23 mph or less, the battery range is estimated to be between 40 – 60 miles, depending on the cart model. For carts with a maximum speed of 27 mph, the battery range is estimated to be between 30 – 40 miles. By wiring two units in parallel, the battery range can be doubled.

Dakota Lithium batteries have impressive lifecycles. They can retain up to 100% capacity for 2,000 recharge cycles at 100% depth of discharge (DOD). At 80% depth of discharge, the batteries can still maintain 80% capacity at ≥4,000 recharge cycles. At 50% depth of discharge, the capacity reduces to 50%, with a lifespan of ≥6,000 cycles. In comparison, typical SLA batteries typically last for 500 cycles.

These batteries are ideal for rugged and harsh environments due to their wide operating temperature range. They can operate in temperatures as low as -20°F (-28°C) and as high as +120°F (49°C). The batteries perform well even at -20°F (-28°C), but it is recommended to avoid charging them below 32°F (0°C).

The batteries have a maximum continuous discharge of 100A and a maximum pulse discharge of 200A for 3-5 minutes. The flat discharge voltage curve of Dakota Lithium batteries provides 75% more capacity compared to a similar-sized SLA 100Ah battery.

The recommended maximum charge rate for these batteries is 50A, with a recommended voltage of 57.6V. The package includes a free 48V 8A LiFePO4 battery charger.

Dakota Lithium batteries come with an active Battery Management System (BMS) that provides various protections including cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection, and temperature protection. In case the BMS cuts off the battery, a LiFePO4 battery charger is required to turn it back on (included with purchase).

All Dakota Lithium batteries are UN38 certified, meeting the safety requirements for transportation by air, ground, train, and marine. The cells used in these batteries are UL1642 certified and have been tested according to IEC62133 standards.

Dakota Lithium is an ISO Certified company, meeting the standards set out in ISO 9001:2015. Some models are produced in ISO 14001 certified facilities, ensuring environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

The batteries come with a free 48V 8A LiFePO4 charger. It is important to note that Dakota Lithium 48V batteries should be charged at 57.6 volts, higher than AGM or lead acid batteries. While lead acid chargers will work, they will only charge the battery to 80% of its capacity. To enjoy 100% charging capacity, an upgrade to a 48V 15A charger is recommended.

Shipping of Dakota Lithium batteries to the lower 48 US states is included in the purchase price. The batteries will be delivered on a shipping pallet via freight.

A single 48V Dakota Lithium battery replaces a set of 6V, 8V, or 12V batteries in a 48V cart. This battery is suitable for most carts with a maximum speed of under 27 mph and a motor controller rated under 240 Amps. For carts with motor controllers rated at 240 Amps or higher (such as some dune buggies, off-road carts, ATVs, and high-speed carts), two 48V batteries in parallel may be required.

Each Dakota Lithium battery has a power storage capacity of 4.6 kWh. These batteries are well-suited for solar energy systems and a 48V setup offers efficiency advantages. With 500 – 800 watts of solar panel capacity and a 48V solar charge controller, these batteries can be fully charged on a daily basis.
